HomeKeeping track of your CPEs

Keeping track of your CPE’s and ability to provide the necessary documentation are critical if or when you may be asked to provide proof of completion.

Just a couple of helpful reminders:

What documentation should I maintain regarding trainings I have attended?

Many professional designation organizations including the ACFE periodically audit random members for evidence of CPE reported. It is a good practice to maintain accurate and complete records which include:

  • Date and time of of training attended
  • Name of training attended
  • Topics/Material covered in training
  • Names and titles of presenters (would recommend taking screen shot of training posted for event).
  • CPE certificate

Maintaining training documentation and records is the responsibility of the participant and the Chapter is not responsible for nor should be expected to provide historical certification/attestation of training provided on an individual level.

How are CPE certificates awarded and provided?

CPE certificates are awarded to those participants who registered and attended the training event. CPE certificates will not be provided to those who registered and did not attend the training session.

In order to qualify for a CPE certificate, a participant must complete the registration process for the event on the Boston Chapter ACFE website. When completing the registration, participants should ensure that contact information provided or listed previously is current and accurate for themselves as that will ensure that the zoom link (for virtual events) for the training will be received. If you are registering others, please list their individual names for later corroboration.

Secondly, for virtual events held by Zoom, the participant must ensure their first and last name is displayed on Zoom (no abbreviations, screen or partial names).  This is a critical step as the Zoom attendance report will be compared to the registration list and only participants that appear on both will receive a CPE certificate.

What if I didn't get a training certificate?

If you attend an event, you should receive a training certificate via email in the days following the training. If you do not receive one, please do the following:

  1. Check your spam and clutter folders. Also check your "Other" tab if you use a "Focused" inbox. The email will come from "Gr. Boston ACFE", webmaster@acfeboston.org.
  2. Check an alternate email account you might have used when you registered.
  3. Check that you complied with the requirements in the section above about clearly listing your name in your registration and your display name on Zoom during the training. (If we cannot match your registration to the attendance report, you may not be marked as having attended.)
  4. In some cases, your corporate email system may block emails from the chapter. If your email appears on a failed email report, we'll attempt to request an alternate, non-corporate email address from you.
  5. Send a message to us listing the specific training date for which you have not received a certificate email.
